Technical Training & Expertise
I hold a university degree in engineering, and I worked in the engineering field for over a decade in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, aerospace and biomedical devices. For the past 20 years as a freelance writer, I have written every type of technical document there is, including technical specifications, manufacturing procedures, parts catalogues, material safety data sheets and user manuals.
Therefore, I have the training and experience to express even your more complex technical ideas clearly and precisely. Many of the technical documents I write are of a confidential nature and cannot be shared here (for example, manufacturing procedures for military lasers, training manuals for mining engineers and technicians, etc.). Some of the documents I write are in the public sector, such as the user manuals, software interfaces and technical articles listed below.
Industrial Equipment Brochure
Xebec came to me with a very urgent need: to write AND design a brochure for a line of their products in 2 DAYS! They were going to a trade show, and they needed something designed and printed fast that they could hand out to people visiting their booth. I did not let them down. I wrote the brochure in both French and English, did the graphic design and had it printed… All in 2 days.
Software Interface
I wrote the French version of the very popular Sky Safari astronomy app for mobile devices. This is an ongoing project where I continue to provide French copy as the application continues to evolve and thrill astronomy enthousiasts. I also translated its big brother, Starry Night, one of the leading astronomy programs on the market.
Technical Newspaper Articles on Astronomy and Other Technical Subjects
I write extensively about technical matters for local newspapers and magazines. Astronomy is one of my favorite subjects. Through a monthly column, I was able to make this apparently lofty and highly technical “hobby” accessible to the average person who does not own expensive equipment.
